Angie Brinegar Receives Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner Certification

Angie Brinegar of Coastal Cancer Center has achieved her Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner Certification, making her the only nurse practitioner in Horry County to earn the advanced credential in adult oncology.

Brinegar joins 1,068 nurse practitioners nationwide who have achieved the specialized certification from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. The certification now allows Brinegar to evolve her advanced level of cancer care to patients at Coastal Cancer Center’s Myrtle Beach and Supply, NC, offices.

Brinegar completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University before graduating from Duke University with her Master of Science in Nursing. Currently, she is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and has been an Oncology Certified Nurse since 2001.

Since joining Coastal Cancer Center in 2000, Brinegar has served area patients in a multitude of roles, including infusion nurse, clinic nurse, clinical educator and nurse practitioner.
