Coastal Cancer Center to Host “Look Good… Feel Better” Meeting in October

Battling any form of cancer as a woman isn’t easy – the loss of hair, changes to the skin, fragile nails and a transformation in physical appearance are all part of fighting back against the disease.

Coastal Cancer Center continues its ongoing effort to help local women undergoing cancer treatment on October 28 at its next “Look Good… Feel Better” meeting. The free two-hour session from 2-4 p.m. will take place at Coastal Cancer Center’s Conway office, located at 817 Farrar Drive in the Rivertown Medical Park.

The “Look Good… Feel Better” meeting, co-hosted with the American Cancer Society, teams up cosmetology professionals with women in cancer treatment to help patients better understand changes to their hair, nails, skin and physical appearance during chemotherapy or radiation.

Professionals will also guide participants in make-up application, turban styling and wig care during the October 28 session. All women in attendance receive complimentary make-up kits.

Women in cancer treatment or within six months before or after having treatments can register by calling 1-800-227-2345.
