Coastal Cancer Center’s Dr. Emily Touloukian spotlights breast cancer awareness and prevention in a one-on-one interview with WBTW News 13 Weekend Morning Anchor Lauren Hinnant. The interview is scheduled to air October 5 at 8:30 a.m.
According to the South Carolina Central Cancer Registry, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in South Carolina women.
Dr. Touloukian continues Coastal Cancer Center’s effort to make area women “breast cancer aware” throughout the month of October. Dr. Touloukian will discuss with Lauren the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, how to give a breast self-exam and when women should begin annual screenings.
The South Carolina Central Cancer Registry reports 3,291 new female breast cancer cases were diagnosed among South Carolina women in 2012. Approximately 614 South Carolina women died from the disease in the same time period.
